Sweden Offers Free Forest Retreat: The Main Condition is Absolute Silence.
Tourism Initiative in Sweden
According to ТСН: A unique tourism program has started in the Swedish region of Skåne, offering travelers a free stay in a forest cabin for a few days. The main condition is maintaining silence, as excess noise could lead to the termination of the stay.
Three couples from Denmark, Germany, and the United Kingdom are participating in the project, chosen from over 200 applications received from 30 countries.
“During my days in the cabin, I felt so peaceful and revitalized that now I want to find such a place for myself and my family”
, shares her impressions Johanna Holm from Germany.
The project leader, Josefine Nordgren, emphasizes that silence and communication with nature help recover from stress, improve concentration, sleep, and overall health.
Representatives of Visit Skåne highlight that this initiative demonstrates how modern travel can be calm and beneficial for well-being, emphasizing the value of silence as an important resource for welfare and sustainable tourism development.
It is worth noting that a couple from the United Kingdom previously shared a touching story about how a rented cabin in remote Devon became their quiet harbor and helped them get through tough times in life.
This initiative in Sweden reflects modern trends in tourism, particularly the focus on the psychological well-being of travelers. In the fast pace of life, the opportunity to find a corner of peace in nature takes on particular significance, facilitating not only recovery but also a deeper connection with the surrounding world.
