Ukraine's Draft Offices Ordered to Remove Unfit Individuals from Military Rolls Within One Month.
Removal from Military Registration
According to Novyny.live: Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) in Ukraine are now required to remove from military registration any citizens officially declared unfit for service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Once the relevant documents are received, a decision must be made within 30 days. It's important to note that men aged 17 to 60 are required to be on military rolls, while women with medical training may also be registered.
Removal from the registry can occur due to age or health reasons. A person who receives a formal determination of unfitness for military duty must be taken off the rolls. As Yevhen Oleksandrovych stated,
“If you have been declared unfit for military service by a Military Medical Commission decision, the TRC and its social support unit are obligated to remove you from military registration.”
The Removal Process
Once a citizen is removed from the registry due to health issues, they are no longer required to undergo an annual military medical commission examination. This simplifies the process for those with medical conditions. However, if an individual disagrees with the decision regarding their removal, they have the right to file a complaint with a higher-level TRC and social support unit—provided their initial request was not reviewed within 30 days.
“If your application for removal from military registration is denied or ignored for 30 days, you should submit a complaint to a higher-level TRC and social support unit,”added Yevhen Oleksandrovych.
As a result, Ukraine's process for removing individuals from military registration now follows clear procedures and timelines that the relevant authorities must adhere to.
These changes are designed to streamline administrative steps for citizens deemed unfit for service, while also reducing the burden on military medical commissions. Setting specific deadlines for decision-making may also boost the efficiency of TRCs. The ability to appeal decisions provides an additional layer of legal protection for citizens.
