The Mayor of Kharkiv spoke out against VAT for entrepreneurs: why it is a threat to business.
The Mayor of Kharkiv's speech on supporting entrepreneurs
According to ТСН: The Mayor of Kharkiv emphasized that in wartime conditions, it is important not to put pressure on entrepreneurs, who are the foundation of the country's economy. He strongly opposed the introduction of mandatory VAT for individual entrepreneurs with an annual income of over 1 million UAH. According to him, this could create additional burdens and lead to a reduction in businesses.
“Small business during the war is the foundation of the country. It is very important to support it and not burden it. Everything needs to be done economically balanced... Small business cannot be oppressed,” emphasized Ihor Terekhov.
He also expressed gratitude to entrepreneurs who continue to work in Kharkiv despite the difficulties.
According to the mayor, there are now over 127 thousand individual entrepreneurs working in the city — more than before the start of the war. To support these entrepreneurs, the city council made a decision to cancel all local taxes and fees. This will allow them to direct their turnover funds to the purchase of materials, payment of salaries, and the creation of new jobs.
This initiative of the mayor indicates a desire to support small business in a difficult time for the country. Supporting entrepreneurs is extremely important as they provide jobs and contribute to economic development, especially in wartime conditions. The cancellation of taxes will help small businesses adapt to new realities and maintain competitiveness.
