Kamikaze Drone Attack on Kharkiv

According to UATV: On June 10, 2023, Russian occupying forces launched a large-scale kamikaze drone assault on Kharkiv, leaving more than ten people injured. Explosions were reported across six separate locations, with the attack spanning four districts of the city. The first wave of blasts began at 4:30 AM. Over 20 drones of the 'Geran-2' type were deployed during the incident.

As a result of the shelling, 17 individuals sought medical attention. One drone crashed near a residential building, sparking a fire that engulfed the first and second floors. Eyewitnesses described extensive destruction caused by the strike.

“The windows were blown out. Then I saw a huge flame outside,” said Kateryna, a local resident.

Reactions and Aftermath of the Attack

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov commented on the situation, stating:

“What do our enemies hope to achieve with such strikes? They want people to leave the city.”
His remarks highlight the adversary's intent to exert psychological pressure on the civilian population.

This assault is part of the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine, which continues to inflict harm on civilians and infrastructure. The injured have received necessary medical care, but the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

The attack reflects Russia's aggressive strategy aimed at destabilizing Ukraine through terror against civilians. Such strikes are likely to increase the number of internally displaced persons, placing additional strain on social services. Local authorities and medical teams remain focused on aiding victims and evaluating the destruction caused by the assault.
