Zelensky revealed details of future negotiations with Putin: what Ukraine will discuss.
On negotiations with Putin
In response to journalists' questions, Zelensky noted that the idea of negotiations with Putin arose during the conversation with Trump. Regarding territorial and security policy issues of Ukraine, he plans to discuss them directly with the President of the Russian Federation.
Ukraine, according to Zelensky, did not put forward any conditions for the meeting with Putin, so as not to give Moscow a reason to cancel it by imposing its own conditions. He also added that it is still unknown when this meeting will take place, but this question is currently being considered.
On security guarantees for Ukraine
Zelensky stated that the US would become security guarantors for our state. The details of these guarantees will be agreed upon over the next 10 days.
On the visible 'show of force' of the Russian army for Trump
In response to journalists' questions about the map of the occupied territories of Ukraine shown to Trump, Zelensky replied that it allowed to visually demonstrate how meager the achievements were that the Russian occupiers had obtained over four years of war. 'It is important to compare which territories Ukraine lost in 2014, when there was no large-scale aggression, and after 2022. This is only 1%, which indicates the weakness of the Russian army and the strength of Ukrainian heroes.'
It was previously reported that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz believes that Putin will not finally muster the courage to meet face to face with Zelensky.
We remind you that Donald Trump confirmed that during a phone conversation with Putin, during which the discussion was interrupted, he agreed on a personal meeting between the dictator of the Russian Federation and the President of Ukraine.
During the briefing, Zelensky talked about the plans for the upcoming meeting with Putin, security guarantees from the US, and demonstrated the military weakness of Russia to Trump. Further developments are expected in the relations between Ukraine, Russia, and the US.Read also
