Owner of lion arrested in Thailand after attack on boy: details.
According to The Sun: A horrific incident occurred in Thailand: a pet lioness attacked an 11-year-old boy after escaping from its cage.
A one-year-old lioness named Mahaesee escaped on Saturday evening and pounced on Artit Nuyengu.
ViralPressShocking video from surveillance cameras captured the massive cat chasing boys in Kanchanaburi province, causing screams of terror from local residents.
One of the boys runs into the frame, shouting, as Mahaesee chases after him.
Two more boys join him, and the lion catches up with Artit, who lagged behind.
The predator knocked him down and bit into the side of the boy.
Fortunately, heroic neighbor Saravut Tokaew, 43, timely came to the rescue and struck the lioness on the head until she released the boy.
While he successfully fought off the attack, he himself sustained injuries from her claws.
Shortly after the incident, a video appeared showing Mahaesee’s owner, 32-year-old Pariñya Parkphum, calmly taking the animal from the field and returning it back to the cage.
Both Artit and Saravut were taken to the hospital, and according to authorities, they are currently in stable condition.
Nature protection service workers arrived at Pariñya’s home on October 5 to take Mahaesee and conduct a veterinary examination.
The lioness was calmed down and carried out on a stretcher.
Attapol Charoenchansa, director of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, noted:
“The owner is accused of violating Article 15 of the Wildlife Protection and Preservation Act, which prohibits licensed owners from releasing wild animals into the wild.”
“This case should serve as a warning for others to responsibly manage dangerous wild animals.”
For violating the law, the owner faces a fine of up to £1,150 and a maximum sentence of six months in prison.
Pariñya has apologized to the victims' families and promised to cover all medical expenses.

He also agreed to transfer Mahaesee to the Bungchawaka Wildlife Management Development Center.
Pariñya explained that he left the lion tied to a post as the old cage was under reconstruction:
“I had no idea that the chain would break until a resident called me and informed that the lion had escaped and attacked a child.”
Residents expressed relief that the beast has finally been removed from the residential area, as it had escaped twice before.
Heroic neighbor Saravut, known as Boy, said:
“This is not the first time the lion has escaped; it has happened twice before.”
“We all believe this happened due to the owner's negligence.”
Lek, Artit's mother, thanked Saravut for his heroism:
“I had to turn off the television in the hospital so he wouldn’t see the news about himself, especially the CCTV video. It’s awful.”
She also noted:
“This incident has caused not only physical injuries but also serious psychological scars.”
It should be noted that in Thailand, keeping a pet lion is legal but regulated. Owners are required to obtain a license and adhere to strict maintenance regulations set by the Department of National Parks.
Those who keep lions without permission may face fines, imprisonment, and confiscation of the animal.
