An island trying to become a competitor to Spain
According to The Sun: Djerba Island, located off the coast of Tunisia, is striving to attract more tourists from the United Kingdom, competing with Spanish islands. Last year, new easyJet flights were launched from the UK to this popular tourist destination.
'We want Djerba to be an alternative...' - said Mohamed Mehdi Khalwa, CEO of the Tunisian Tourism Office.
Djerba is also planning to develop its tourist infrastructure and improve its offerings to become an attractive resort for British travelers.
These efforts are aimed at increasing the island's popularity among tourists who typically choose Spain. Given the growing competition in the tourism sector, Djerba hopes to become a new vacation spot, offering a unique experience for its visitors.
