New flights between the islands of Cape Verde: how to travel the archipelago now.
According to The Sun: The islands of Cape Verde are becoming increasingly accessible thanks to new domestic flights between destinations such as Sal and Boa Vista.
AlamyCabo Verde Airlines recently expanded its fleet with two former aircraft previously operated by IndiGo.
The new planes, based at the International Airport in Praia on the island of Santiago, will help meet the growing demand for visiting the archipelago.
“The connectivity between the islands is a geographical necessity and vital for the country's economy,” said Maarten Grift, sales director at TrueNoord.
Grift also noted that 'African airlines operating on domestic and regional routes are actively looking for opportunities to expand their fleets.'
Cape Verde Islands
Cape Verde consists of 10 islands divided into two groups: Barlavento (Santo Antão, São Vicente, Santa Luzia - uninhabited, São Nicolau, Sal, and Boa Vista) and Sotavento (Maio, Santiago, Fogo, and Brava).
Sal is famous for its sunny, dry weather and beautiful golden beaches. It is a popular spot for surfing and kite surfing due to strong winds.

Boa Vista is also popular for its stunning beaches and turtle spots. The flight between Sal and Boa Vista takes just 25 minutes, with a one-way ticket costing 864 CVE (around 6.81 pounds) in September.
Flights from the UK are available to Praia, São Vicente, Sal, and Boa Vista. The time difference from the UK is only one hour, so travelers do not experience jet lag.
During the autumn-winter period, Cape Verde becomes an ideal destination for a sun getaway, as temperatures range between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius.
Hotel offerings are quite relative in price - for example, for a week with all amenities in Boa Vista in September, one might pay from 685 pounds. There are also options in Sal starting from 706 pounds for the same period.
