Conor McGregor returns to training

According to The Sun: Conor McGregor has actively started training, preparing to participate in historic UFC fights planned to take place on the grounds of the White House.

The Irishman has not stepped into the ring since July 2021 when he suffered a serious leg injury during a fight against Dustin Poirier.

After a period of uncertainty, McGregor has returned to UFC's drug testing program and is actively preparing for his return to the ring.

The former two-division champion has posted several videos of his training sessions in the gym.

The 37-year-old fighter is working on his strikes and assures fans: “The champion is coming back!”

“Just a little over 8 months to the UFC at the White House. I can't wait to see how my body changes. My strike selection is improving. My masterpiece is to be created.”

In July, US President Donald Trump announced plans to hold UFC fights on the lawn of the Oval Office.

UFC President Dana White is negotiating to implement this idea by the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

It is expected that only 5,000 spectators will be able to attend this event under strict security protocols.

McGregor is one of the contenders for participation in the event, as White is negotiating his return to the octagon.

“We are going to create the best card of all time. Conor and I are in constant communication, he really wants this fight, and at the level Conor is, you need to find what motivates, and the White House card has truly become motivation for Conor McGregor.”

Initially, McGregor planned to return in June 2023 to compete against Michael Chandler, but a finger injury prevented him from carrying out that plan. Now he is determined to take on the American on the biggest UFC stage.

“Michael Chandler and I. We did The Ultimate Fighter. We had a good back and forth. He is a good, strong guy.”

Chandler has fought two bouts since the cancellation of the match with McGregor, losing to Charles Oliveira and Paddy Pimblett.

While McGregor has remained in the shadows due to controversies, last December he was found guilty in a 2018 assault case.

“I have a lot of aggression that needs to be released. I will hit harder and tougher than ever before.”

McGregor has been ordered to pay £206,000 in damages and legal costs as he lost his appeal.

He also hinted that he might retire during a Bare Knuckle press conference in March but quickly dismissed that thought.

McGregor's return to the UFC and his doping tests in August have been the brightest signs of preparation for his comeback.

The stars of the UFC may return after six months of clean doping tests.

McGregor posted on social media: “I’m actually hitting significantly harder in my latest training sessions, and I think it’s nice to think about the possibility of doing it live again.'

“My strikes whistle through the air like rockets! That’s why, and how, I hold all the records in this fight book. See you soon, guys!”
