Britons are massing to an unknown resort in Albania: what Durres has to offer.

Located on the Adriatic coast, the city of Durres, which you may not have heard of, is experiencing great demand among British tourists.

According to The Sun: The second largest city in Albania, Durres offers a long beach and has proven to be cheaper than most European resorts at its peak.

According to new data from Love Holidays, the city has become a new popular destination for tourist hugs, with bookings this year up by 224 percent compared to the previous year.

Durres is famous for its beach stretching over 6.5 miles, which is the largest in all of Albania. Along the promenade, there are numerous bars, cafes, and restaurants to explore. The Cosmo Restaurant, located at the west end of the beach, is noted as the best in the city and serves seafood such as crabs and lobsters.

Additionally, there are numerous hotels along the promenade, many of which have direct access to the beach. Guests can also rent two sun loungers and an umbrella on the beach for prices ranging from £4.33 to £21.63.

The city also boasts many historical and cultural landmarks to visit, including the ruins of the Durres Castle, which was built in the 5th century, and the Venetian Tower. Space is limited.

Besides beaches and history, visitors can tour the Abaia winery and vineyard, where they can see how five different wines are produced. The cost of an excursion starts at £17 per person.
