Corvo is approximately 1,180 miles from the mainland coast of Portugal and is the northernmost island of the Azores archipelago. Given its location, it is considered the most remote inhabited island in Europe.
Despite the small number of tourists, the main attraction of the island is the Caldeira crater, formed millions of years ago. It has a diameter of more than two miles and a depth of nearly one thousand feet. The slopes of the crater are covered with bright grass and blue lagoons, resembling scenes from a fantasy movie.

Nature Exploration and Activities
The rim of this magnificent crater is surrounded by numerous waterfalls that can be seen during a boat trip around the island. There are also numerous sea caves. If you embark on a journey between Flores and Corvo, you might, for example, see dolphins, especially from May to September.
On the island, there's a group of ancient windmills, with only three of the original seven still functioning. The best way to explore the island’s beauty is on foot or by bicycle, although taxi services are also available.

Unique Nature and Restaurants
In addition to the extraordinary nature, the island is known for its rare species of flora and fauna, making Corvo a UNESCO biosphere reserve. If you are looking for a beach, visit Praia da Areia, a tranquil spot with volcanic black sand, quite popular among locals.
Despite all the natural attractions, there are few human conveniences on the island. There is only one village - Vila do Corvo, where a few restaurants, a hotel, shops, and a port are located.
The Azores archipelago consists of nine islands divided into three groups: Eastern (Sao Miguel and Santa Maria), Central (Terceira, Graciosa, Faial, San Jorge, and Pico), and Western (Corvo and Flores).
To reach Corvo, you can travel through neighboring islands such as Orta, Ponta Delgada, and Flores, or take a small ferry, which makes a 24-kilometer journey between Flores and Corvo several times a day.
