Stop of operations at Lithuanian airport due to a drone
The largest airport in Lithuania, located in the capital Vilnius, is forced to suspend its activities due to the appearance of a drone in its vicinity. This is already the third serious case of chaos related to drones that has occurred on the European continent.A representative of Vilnius airport noted:“Preliminary information indicates that the decision to impose restrictions...This situation has caused significant inconveniences for passengers, leading to delays and cancellations of flights. Drones are increasingly becoming the cause of disruptions at airports, raising serious security issues in European airspace.The situation with drones in Europe is becoming increasingly relevant, as similar incidents have repeatedly compromised the safety of air transport. Airport authorities and relevant services are working on strengthening controls to prevent such incidents in the future, to ensure the safety of passengers and the uninterrupted operation of airports.
