Only 30% of Ukrainians in Austria have jobs - study.
According to a study commissioned by the Austrian Employment Service, only 30% of Ukrainians residing in the country have official employment.
The service's General Director, Johannes Kopf, expressed concern about the low employment rate of Ukrainians and urged more people to register as job seekers.
«It's pleasing that the employment rate of Ukrainians in Austria has recently risen again, but we still cannot be satisfied with an employment rate of only around 30%. And still too few displaced persons have registered with AMS as job seekers», – stated the General Director of the service, Johannes Kopf.
Statistics show that by early 2024, around 81 thousand Ukrainian citizens were registered in Austria, most of whom are women. About 6 thousand Ukrainians with displaced person status are registered with the Employment Service, and 21 thousand have official employment.
Ukrainians mainly work in the accommodation and food service sectors, as well as in trade, mainly in Vienna.
Let's recall, employment for Ukrainians: Austria has significantly changed the rules.
