Great Britain: The real village that inspired the iconic soap opera.
According to The Sun: In January, The Archers will celebrate 75 years on air. It is believed that this radio program is based on a small village in the heart of the English countryside.
The town of Inkberrow in Worcestershire is considered the inspiration for the fictional village of Ambridge in the world's longest-running soap opera.
'Inside the pub, there is plenty of memorabilia from the BBC Radio 4 program, including signed pictures of cast members and scripts,' said the owner of The Old Bull, a real pub in the village.
The pub itself is a 16th-century coaching inn serving traditional English fare.
The interior features exposed wooden beams, cozy fireplaces, and a traditional atmosphere.
Legend has it that the pub was once a stop for William Shakespeare on his way to Worcester to obtain a marriage license for Anne Hathaway.
Nearby is Inkberrow Millennium Green, home to the 13th-century St. Peter's Church with its medieval moat.
The village also has another pub called The Bull's Head, as well as a shop, a primary school, and a village hall.
Close by, in the fields surrounding the village, visitors can find the Inkberrow Tower, built in 1996.
'However, this is not a historical watchtower or a village chapel - it is a base station for the Orange mobile network,' it was reported.
Just a 15-minute drive from Inkberrow lies Hanbury Hall - another location believed to have been used in some of the 20,000 episodes of The Archers.
Owned by the National Trust, the property is considered inspiration for Lower Loxley Hall from the show, which is the stately home of characters Nigel and Elizabeth Pargetter.
The real Hanbury Hall features 19th-century gardens and large wall paintings by artist James Thornhill.
Close to the house is the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, which is believed to be the basis for the Church of St. Stephen in Ambridge.
'The recordings of the church bells have been used in many episodes of The Archers,' it was noted.
The small village of Inkberrow and the nearby landmarks evoke an atmosphere that can be felt in the beloved village of Ambridge from The Archers, highlighting the connection between the fictional world of entertainment and the real life and history of modern Britain.
