The Claude Bosi restaurant in Bibendum, famous for its oysters and seafood, opened in 2017.
It is known that the restaurant will cease service on August 31, but it actually stopped operating on August 25.
“With deep sadness, we announce that Claude Bosi Restaurant ceased trading on August 25, and the Oyster Bar will close after service on August 31.”
“Despite all our efforts, we were unable to reach a compromise with our partners and landlords that would allow Michelin House to move to the next chapter.”
The statement also noted the cancellation of all bookings after these dates:
“We sincerely apologize for any disappointment this may cause.”
The restaurant, located in the old Michelin building, received two Michelin stars just a year after opening. In addition to this project, Bosi opened the Brooklands restaurant at The Peninsula London, as well as Josephine in Chelsea and Marylebone.
Next Steps
The chef emphasized that his team will focus on other establishments:
“Our main goal now is our team.”
“We are personally committed to ensuring that every staff member receives full support and is directed to new opportunities within our group.”
Bosi also thanked for the support he received over the years:
“It has been an honor for us to be a part of the Michelin House history and a privilege to share this journey with you.”
Restaurant fans expressed their disappointment, with one writing:
“So sad to hear this – the best dish I ever had was there.”
Another added:
“The Oyster Bar is one of my favorite restaurants, and your staff is always so pleasant.”
Closure of Another Restaurant
Bosi's decision marked the second closure of a two-Michelin-star London restaurant this year, following the closure of Le Dame Du Pic by chef Anne-Sophie Pic.
