President Trump signed a decree on the declassification of documents regarding the murders of Kennedy and King

U.S. President Donald Trump signed a decree on the declassification of documents related to the murders of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.

On Thursday, the president decided to release all materials related to these well-known cases. Stating that the families and the American people deserve transparency and truth, Trump explained that the declassification of these documents is in the national interest.

The release of documents concerning the murder of the former president was supposed to take place in 2017. However, the federal government continued to postpone this process. President Trump decided that further delaying and editing the information in these documents made no sense. He noted that the release of these materials had long been an anticipated necessity.

During his statement, Trump emphasized that the declassification of documents related to John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King is also a matter of public interest, even though Congress did not set him such a task.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s ally and candidate for his cabinet, believes that the CIA was involved in the murder of his uncle. He tried to get his sister-in-law Amarilis Fox Kennedy included in the leadership of the Central Intelligence Agency but was unsuccessful. He also noted that he has "compelling" but "indirect" evidence of the CIA's involvement in his father's death.

In August of this year, Trump announced the formation of a new independent presidential commission that will investigate assassination attempts. The commission will be responsible for the release of documents related to the first murders and assassination attempts on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
