US President Donald Trump reported that an American delegation is already going to Russia to discuss a ceasefire in Ukraine. He stated this to reporters on March 12, 2025, during a briefing at the White House.

'We currently have people going to Russia. We received some positive signals regarding a truce,' Trump noted, adding that the further peace process will depend on the Kremlin's decision.

Vice President JD Vance also commented on the situation: 'We believe we are in a very advantageous position as the Ukrainians have agreed to a ceasefire. Now we'll see if we can convince the Russians to do the same.'

According to Trump, the US allegedly already has 'half of a ceasefire agreement', and now it is necessary for Russia to agree to these terms. At the same Time, the American president did not rule out the possibility of pressure on Russia if necessary.

'There are things that can be done financially, and they would be very bad for Russia,' warned the US president, as quoted by Reuters.

In addition, Trump made a mysterious statement about April 2, calling it 'a very big day', but did not reveal any details.

In another part of his speech, Trump touched on trade relations with the European Union. 'The European Union was created to use the US for its own interests,' the president stated.

He also announced the introduction of new trade restrictions in response to the EU's policy: 'The EU has been very tough, now it is our turn. We will respond to European tariffs in kind.'

Trump added that the US 'will take back much of what has been stolen from them by other countries and, frankly, incompetent American leadership.'

Earlier, Zelensky outlined the conditions for lifting martial law and holding elections in Ukraine.
