Trump stated about Ukraine's negotiations with Russia: what is known about their status.
According to ТСН: U.S. President Donald Trump announced that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are ongoing regarding the resolution of the conflict. He made this statement at the White House, responding to reporters' questions.
“Negotiations regarding Ukraine and Russia are ongoing. Last month, as you know, they lost 27 thousand soldiers... And negotiations are being held,” Trump stated.
Trump also mentioned the existing “great hatred” between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Despite the challenging circumstances, he noted that the negotiation process is “going well”.
“I have already settled eight wars... And I believe that with Russia and Ukraine, it is still unresolved,” he said.
Commenting on a possible deadline around Christmas, as mentioned earlier, Trump expressed a desire for the conflict to end, emphasizing that the Biden administration allocated 350 billion dollars to support Ukraine.
The Role of the U.S. in Strengthening NATO
Additionally, Trump highlighted the role of the U.S. in strengthening NATO, noting that the States supply the Alliance with “missiles, aircraft, and the best military equipment” and contributed to increasing defense spending by NATO member countries to 5% of GDP.
He also mentioned the Javelin anti-tank systems that were provided to Ukraine during his presidency, comparing this to assistance during Barack Obama's time.
“But the main thing is to stop this war,” Trump concluded.
Let us remind you, President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of the possibility of a massive Russian strike on Ukraine in the coming days. He also noted that the Russian army has significantly increased the intensity of attacks recently.
It should be noted that negotiations between Ukraine and Russia remain an important topic on the international stage, and their outcome could significantly influence the developments in the region. Continuous support from the U.S. could be a key factor in ensuring stability in Ukraine, especially in the context of escalating conflict.
