Need to act: Zelensky urged the world to stop military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed concern about the cooperation between North Korea and Russia in the context of the war against Ukraine.
In his address on November 1, the president warned about the danger of military cooperation between North Korea and Russia. According to him, North Korea has already gained the opportunity to improve its artillery systems and missiles thanks to the cooperation with Moscow.
"North Korea has learned to make better artillery, this has already happened thanks to cooperation with Moscow, has learned to make better missiles, and this is already obvious," Zelensky emphasized.
The president stated that Ukrainian military forces will defend themselves against North Korean soldiers who are near the Ukrainian border. He also emphasized the need for long-range weapons for preventive strikes.
"We could strike preventively if we had this opportunity – to strike long-range enough. And it depends on the partners," the head of state noted.
Zelensky called on international partners to act more actively instead of simply observing the situation, emphasizing that North Korea's participation in the war in Europe threatens the entire world.
The president criticized the position of Western partners, particularly the United States, regarding the situation. "Instead of this necessary long-range capability, America is watching, Britain is watching, Germany is watching. Everyone is just waiting while North Korean military forces begin to strike Ukrainians," he noted.
Separately, the head of state addressed China, which, in his opinion, "talks a lot about ending the war, but observes and while words are being heard, troops from North Korea are heading to the front."
