Czech Republic launches Charlie One: millions of crowns for interceptor drones for Ukraine.
According to ТСН: A national campaign Charlie One has started in the Czech Republic, aimed at raising funds for the procurement of interceptor drones for Ukraine. The project has received significant support, including a public endorsement from the Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Army, Karel Rdzhehka.
The activists of the Skupina D association, who have already delivered thousands of drones to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, are the organizers of this event. The goal of the new project is to provide Ukraine with specialized interceptor drones capable of neutralizing Russian strike UAVs in the air before they reach Ukrainian cities and settlements.
Support for the campaign
General Karel Rdzhehka, Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces and honorary chairman of Skupina D, supported the Charlie One campaign. He noted that he was pleased that the campaign bears his call sign 'Charlie.' In his opinion, the drone received such a name because it was challenged during his service.
“I am proud to have the opportunity to help Ukraine protect civilians. Every drone shot down over Ukraine is a UAV that will not reach the Czech Republic.”
Technical specifications
The Charlie One system is a modern defense complex designed for the rapid interception of Russian strike drones. The drones can detect, track, and destroy targets both day and night. Information about the manufacturer and technical details is not disclosed for security reasons.
The cost of one drone is approximately 60,000 Czech crowns. To date, more than 5 million crowns have already been raised as part of the campaign.
There have also been reports about the launch of mass production of the latest Ukrainian interceptor drone 'Shaheds' named Octopus.
Relevant information remains about the Czech company Reactive Drone, which is under investigation for alleged financial misconduct related to the resale of drones to the Ukrainian army.
By launching the Charlie One campaign, the Czech Republic is trying to strengthen support for Ukraine in its fight against aggression. The initiative unites conscious citizens around a common goal that can significantly impact the struggle of Ukrainian defenders for their territory. In the face of the constant threat of air attacks, interceptor drones can become an essential element of the defense system.
