Defense Against Attack: Air Defense System Operated in the City
In the night of September 3, the operation of air defense systems was recorded in the city. Citizens were urged to stay in shelters during the air raid alert.
There were at least two explosions. First, a corresponding sound was heard around half past midnight, and a few minutes later a second one was heard.
According to the military, an enemy drone was spotted over Chernihiv amid the attack using Shahed-type kamikaze drones.
According to the head of the city administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, no building strikes or debris falls were recorded in the central part of the city. No damages were found in the areas of Shevchenko, Levko Lukianenko, and Kozatska streets.
As of 0:53, no strikes or debris falls were detected in the city. However, debris from downed objects was recorded on the outskirts of the city.
Later, the city military administration clarified that as a result of the debris falls, there were "fires in non-residential, non-industrial buildings on the outskirts of the city."
