In Chernihiv, power was cut off due to an attack by the Russian Federation, damaging educational institutions.
In Chernihiv, a Russian attack at night damaged two kindergartens, a school, and a vocational school. This was reported by the press service of the Chernihiv City Council on social media. It was noted that one of the kindergartens has nearly 60% of its windows shattered.
Along with the educational institutions, school camps also suffered, facing issues with electricity supply and food. Some kindergartens temporarily cannot function due to a low number of children attending them, due to the general tension in the city.
«This institution was one of the first to resume operations after the full-scale invasion in 2022, as it had shelter and did not suffer any damage. About 200 children visited it daily», - said Vasyl Bilohura, head of the education department of the Chernihiv City Council.
The situation remains tense
As a result of the Russian attack in Chernihiv, several educational institutions were damaged, which causes problems with the functioning and learning in kindergartens and school camps. Local authorities are already responding to this situation, but for now, the situation remains tense.
