Finnish MEP Pekka Tovari called on the European Union to increase support for Ukraine in case American assistance comes to an end. He believes that the actions currently being taken by the EU in the fight against Russian aggression are insufficient, and more effective measures are needed, combining economic pressure with military support.
At the same time, he expressed dissatisfaction with the cooperation between Hungary and Slovakia with Russia in the energy sector, which could complicate Ukraine's integration into the European Union. Tovari urged to increase pressure on these countries to ensure their cooperation within the framework of sanctions and support for Ukraine.
In his statement, Tovari emphasized the importance of unity and support for the Ukrainian people during a difficult time for the country, and called on the EU to act decisively and coordinated in the face of the Russian threat.
