Tragedy in the municipality of Chatoden: a teenage girl has died, many injured
A tragedy occurred in the French municipality of Chatoden, between Le Mans and Orléans: as a result of a school bus accident, a teenage girl died, and about forty people sustained minor injuries. This was reported by BFMTV.
Among the injured were 31 students, but their injuries turned out to be minor.
«There are no life-threatening forecasts. Currently, there are no versions of the accident,» the local prefecture reported, clarifying that the bus was the only vehicle involved in the accident.
40 firefighters, a medical unit, and a medical-psychological unit of the ambulance service arrived at the scene.
The French Minister of National Education, Élisabeth Borne, expressed condolences to the family of the deceased girl and support for the injured.
«I express my deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. I extend my full support to the students and the educational community. I am closely monitoring the health condition of the injured. On Monday morning, I will visit the school community of the Émile Zola gymnasium,» she added.
It should be noted that in Norway, a tourist bus coming from Latvia with 27 passengers lost control, overturned, and partially ended up in the water.
In addition, on January 11, two trams collided near the train station in the city of Strasbourg, France, injuring several dozen people.
