Lightning struck a Wizz Air plane twice in Georgia: what happened to the aircraft.
On Saturday, October 26, a Wizz Air plane flying from the Georgian city of Kutaisi to Prague returned to the airport after being struck by lightning. This was reported by the publication News Georgia.
According to passengers, lightning struck the plane twice as it was gaining altitude. Witnesses heard a loud noise outside the plane.
The flight attendants reported damage to the lightning protection system and the return of the plane to Kutaisi Airport.
The airport and Wizz Air have not yet commented on this information. It is also unknown if there are any injuries resulting from the incident.

In Paris, lightning struck a plane that was flying near the Eiffel Tower. This happened on May 12 during a severe thunderstorm. In photos published on the social network X, it's visible how the aircraft line is cut by lightning.
There was also a recorded moment of lightning striking a Boeing 777-300 in Canada as the plane took off from Vancouver International Airport heading to Heathrow Airport in London. There were 500 passengers on board. Details of the incident were reported on the Canadian portal City News Everywhere.
One of the novice pilots, 19-year-old Ethan West, posted a video. He said that the plane successfully landed at Heathrow Airport, and then its condition was checked and confirmed to have no damage. According to the US National Weather Service, passenger planes are struck by lightning one or two times a year.
