Russia struck Kharkiv with drones: an entire family died under the rubble.
The aftermath of the kamikaze drone attack 'Geran-2' that occurred on August 18 is still being dealt with in Kharkiv. This tragedy resulted in the deaths of at least seven people. Five drones simultaneously attacked a five-story building where an entire family of four lived. As of now, we know about the deaths of a man, a woman, their 16-year-old son, and their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Two women were extracted from the debris, but all the victims require assistance.
'They lived on the fifth floor, where the most destruction took place and a fire broke out. The bodies are very badly mutilated and severely burnt. Therefore, DNA testing will be necessary. The information regarding the deceased is preliminary. There are even some bodies that are so mutilated that it is impossible to even determine their gender, let alone their age and so on.'
Rescue operations are ongoing, but the task is complicated due to the fire and the need to neutralize enemy drones. The prosecutor's office of Kharkiv region warns that the number of dead may rise, as it is possible that more people are still under the rubble, but it has not yet been possible to establish their exact number.
'The strike on the residential building was targeted — five enemy 'Shaheds' approached it from different sides and specifically aimed at the people who were peacefully sleeping at five in the morning.'
Investigators, prosecutors, city services, and rescuers are working on-site to establish the full picture of the tragedy and assist the victims.
