In Kharkiv, the head of a Russian company was detained for helping to launch spy satellites.

The Security Service of Ukraine and cyber police detained a man in Kharkiv who worked for the military-space forces of Russia. This is reported by the SSU.

«The suspect turned out to be a 47-year-old resident of Kharkiv who serves as the general director of a Russian company that configures spy satellites «Kondor-FKA» and «Obzor-R». The Russians use these space systems to detect current geolocations of Defense Forces, adjust enemy fire, and conduct reconnaissance», the message states.

To calibrate and set up Russian satellites, the man signed relevant contracts with the corporation «Roskosmos», law enforcement officials note. According to the signed document, the general director ordered to transfer the testing range of his own company to the disposal of the military-space forces of the Russian Federation.

«All necessary documents were signed by the contractor via email, and instructions to subordinates in Russia were given through chats in messengers. Additionally, during the investigation, it was found that prior to the full-scale war, the suspect had lived in Russia for a long Time and even participated in a Kremlin program for resettlement to the aggressor country», the SSU notes.

Law enforcement officials detained the criminal at his residence in Kharkiv. During searches, a Russian passport, computer equipment, and mobile phones with evidence of criminal activities were seized. The suspect and his potential accomplices were also found to have over 10 million UAH, presumably received for cooperation with the occupiers.

The man is in custody. He faces up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Two more Russian spies detained

It should be reminded that counterintelligence of the Security Service detained an enemy associate in Kharkiv, who worked for the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation. He turned out to be a 72-year-old scientist-mechanic who developed diagrams for the improvement of kamikaze drones like «Shahed».

By the way, the Security Service detained an agent of the Russian Federal Security Service in the Donetsk region. He turned out to be a 34-year-old local volunteer of the UN World Food Program recruited by the occupiers.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine detained an agent of the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) in Kyiv, who was setting up «video traps» for online target correction for strikes on the capital.
