Kharkiv Public Transport Routes to Change on June 20: Several Services Suspended.
Public Transport Route Adjustments in Kharkiv
According to Novyny.live: Starting June 20, 2023, Kharkiv will see temporary changes to its public transport network due to scheduled repair work by municipal and energy workers. From 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, traffic restrictions will be in place on Klochkivskyi Descent near the Zoo Bridge. As a result, several tram and trolleybus services will be halted, with buses stepping in as replacements.
Details of the Changes
Specifically, tram routes No. 1, No. 6, and No. 12, along with trolleybus No. 20, will be suspended. These route modifications for electric transport will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additionally, bus route No. 60 resumed operations on June 19, 2023. Its departure schedule is as follows:
- From Traktorobudivnykiv Avenue (at Yuvileinyi Avenue) – 6:30 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM;
- From Brazhnykivska Street – 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM, 4:30 PM, 5:30 PM, 6:30 PM.
To maintain service during the restricted period, several bus routes will continue operating. These include buses No. 1, No. 12, No. 8, and No. 13:
- Bus No. 1 will run from Yevhena Kotliara Street (Pryvokzalnyi Square) to Velyka Panasivska Street (tram turnaround loop).
- Bus No. 12 will connect Yevhena Kotliara Street (Pryvokzalnyi Square) with the Central Park.
- Bus No. 8 will travel from Saltivske Highway (602nd Microdistrict) to the 'Zakhysnykiv Ukrainy' metro station.
- Bus No. 13 will link the 'Turbine Plant' metro station with the 'Zakhysnykiv Ukrainy' metro station.
Meanwhile, some trams and trolleybuses will continue on their usual routes. For instance:
- Tram No. 5 will follow this path: Odeska – Byrona Avenue – Morozova Street – Heorhiia Tarasenka Street – Molochna Street – Goldbergivska Street – Rybasivskyi Lane – Hrekivska Street – Universytetska Street – Pavlivskyi Square, continuing along its regular route.
- Tram No. 8 will operate on this route: Odeska – Byrona Avenue – Morozova Street – Heorhiia Tarasenka Street – Molochna Street – Zakhysnykiv Ukrainy Square – Heroiv Kharkova Avenue – Koshkina Street – Heorhiia Tarasenka Street – Mashynobudivnykiv Park.
Trolleybus No. 2 will provide service from Zhukovskyi Settlement to Konstytutsii Square. Trolleybuses No. 13 and No. 57 will run from 'Zustrich' Park to the 'Turbine Plant' metro station, while trolleybus No. 18 will follow the route of trolleybus No. 12. Trolleybus No. 31 will connect Pivnichna Saltivka with the 'Akademika Barabashova' metro station. Trolleybus No. 35 will partially operate on its usual route using autonomous mode, with the rest running from Odeska to the 'Turbine Plant' metro station.
These public transport adjustments will remain in effect until the repair work is completed, aiming to ensure safety and convenience for both residents and visitors to the city.
These route changes are part of scheduled infrastructure repairs designed to improve the quality of transport services in Kharkiv. Adapting the routes is crucial to maintaining uninterrupted access to key locations despite temporary disruptions. Residents are advised to plan their trips in advance, taking into account the new schedules and routes.
