The inspector of the State Customs Service in Kyiv cleared quad bikes at a reduced price, resulting in losses of almost one million hryvnias. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office on Telegram on Monday, August 4.
Prosecutors announced suspicion of abuse of office against the senior state inspector of the Kyiv customs, which led to severe consequences. According to the prosecution, the official came to work on his day off to process the customs declaration for a shipment of quad bikes imported into the customs territory of Ukraine with the involvement of companies registered in offshore zones. Despite clear signs of document forgery submitted for customs clearance, the official intentionally disregarded the existing risks and without proper grounds applied a reduced rate for calculating customs payments. As a result of his actions, losses were incurred amounting to almost one million hryvnias.
As a reminder, in Kyiv, a former head of the TCC helped a former head of the Kyiv Metro escape from Ukraine, for which he has been announced as a suspect. Earlier, a corruption scheme was uncovered in Kyiv region, which caused losses of over 48 million hryvnias.
During the customs clearance of quad bikes in Kyiv, a situation occurred where the inspector committed violations that led to serious losses of over one million hryvnias. This was the result of abuse of office and negligence of the official, who decided to participate in clearing the quad bikes at a reduced price on his day off.
