Paton Bridge Heat Network Leak Leaves Kyiv’s Rusanivka and Bereznyaky Districts Without Heating.
Heat Network Leak on Paton Bridge
According to Novyny.live: On March 22, a heat network leak occurred on Kyiv’s Paton Bridge, cutting off heating for residential buildings in the Rusanivka and Bereznyaky neighborhoods. The coolant leak was detected at 7:30 AM, prompting emergency measures to contain the damage.
Repair crews have already started work to restore heat supply to homes as quickly as possible. Notably, the day before, on March 21, a separate power grid failure struck the city, further straining utility reliability. City authorities are prioritizing the heating network crisis and focusing on swiftly fixing the leak’s consequences.
Vulnerability of Municipal Infrastructure
The Paton Bridge heat network leak underscores the fragility of Kyiv’s municipal infrastructure, especially given the age and wear of its systems. With such incidents capable of disrupting daily life for thousands, it is critical for city services to take additional steps to improve network condition.
Restoring heat supply is essential for residents’ comfort, particularly during cold weather.
