The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, announced that train service between the 'Heroiv Dnipra' and 'Teremky' stations will resume on September 12 following the completion of repair works. The comprehensive work lasted 9 months and included the preparation of the construction site, relocation of cable networks, and replacement of the old tunnel part. The work also included reinforcing the tunnel lining, laying new tracks, and restoring engineering networks. All this was done at an estimated cost of 383 million UAH, which is 62 million UAH less than the initial cost. The problem arose due to design flaws and poor-quality construction work. The Mayor of Kyiv also noted that conducted expert studies confirmed these violations.
