'Under the procedural guidance of juvenile prosecutors of the Obolonsky District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the fact of the death of a 10-year-old child who died in one of the children's hospitals in Kyiv during anesthesia administration', the statement says.
Information indicates that the girl with a forearm fracture received anesthesia while having her plaster cast removed. Unfortunately, as a result of the drug administration, the child experienced serious complications, her condition worsened, and signs of angioedema appeared.
The medical staff attempted to resuscitate the girl for three hours, but the doctors were unable to save her life.
An investigation is currently underway under Part 2 of Article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding possible improper performance of professional duties by the medical worker that led to tragic consequences. Forensic medical examination assigned.
It should be recalled that recently a tragedy occurred in Kolomyia, when a machinist died due to a 'Ukrzaliznytsia' foreman, and the number of civilian casualties and injuries from the war in Ukraine is also increasing.
