Lukashenko commented on the readiness for a Venezuela scenario: what did he mean

According to ТСН: Dictator Alexander Lukashenko believes that a scenario for his removal, similar to the operation carried out by the USA in Venezuela against Nicolas Maduro, is impossible for Belarus.

This was reported by the propaganda news agency BELTA.

“Do you remember last year's meeting of the Security Council of Belarus, where we allocated roles in case: 'what if there is no president?'. Listen, we saw it coming. Therefore, the Venezuela option is unrealistic in Belarus. Even if it happens, we have everything planned for this case,” Lukashenko confidently stated.

Events in Venezuela

Recall that on the night of January 3 in Caracas, Venezuela, at least seven explosions were heard. At the command of US President Donald Trump, several military facilities in the country, including the 'La Carlota' and 'Fuerte Tiuna' air bases, the La Guaira seaport, the defense minister's residence, and the 'El Volcan' signaling antenna, were targeted.

Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were detained and taken out of the country to the US. They were charged with narcoterrorism, cocaine importation, illegal possession of machine guns and explosives, as well as conspiracy against the US.

Trump stated that the USA plans to govern Venezuela until it can ensure a 'safe, proper, and careful transfer of power,' and is also ready for a second, more powerful attack on Venezuela, but for now, there is no need for this.

This statement by Lukashenko underscores his belief in the stability of power in Belarus, despite the events that occurred in Venezuela. Analyzing the situation, one can see how political risks in different countries are perceived differently, depending on the context and local conditions. At the same time, the US response to the situation in Venezuela remains a relevant topic for discussions in international relations.
