In Lviv, the fallen defenders were honored with light.
Memorial event at Lychakiv Cemetery: beams of memory over the graves of Ukrainian defenders
On Sunday, February 23, an event took place at Lychakiv Cemetery dedicated to the third anniversary of the invasion in Lviv. According to the publication 'Glavcom', the commemoration began with a joint prayer attended by the families of fallen defenders, clergy, military units from Lviv and the region, government officials, and townspeople.
Initially, beams of light illuminated the Memorial of Heroes and the area around another memorial at the site of Honorable Burials. Then they shone over the sky above the graves of the fallen Ukrainian defenders.
'This traditional action, which we hold on the eve of the anniversary of the invasion, symbolically shows that light conquers darkness. Glory to the Heroes!' - wrote the mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine presented 'Golden Stars' of the Hero of Ukraine to soldiers and families of the fallen.
Vladimir Zelensky also held a press conference where they discussed the timelines and possibilities for ending the war, weapons production, and relations with other countries, particularly the USA.
