Scandalous Metropolitan Pavlo Lebid led the service at the monastery with an illegal school.
According to ТСН: Scandalous Metropolitan of the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine Pavlo Lebid, known as Pasha 'Mercedes', led the service at the Church of the Protection Monastery in Holosiiv (Kyiv). He was assisted by former regional and ex-mayor of Kharkiv Mykhailo Dobkin, who was 'ordained' as a deacon of the UOC MP after the onset of the full-scale invasion.
Photos depicting these two figures of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate were published on the official page of the UOC MP.
Scandal at the Monastery
Not long ago, the monastery where the service took place became the subject of a significant scandal. Journalists learned that there is an illegal school there that 'zombie-fies' Ukrainian children with enemy propaganda. Students at the underground school of the Moscow Patriarchate study the Russian language, which is listed in the schedule as 'Slavic', sing Soviet songs, and read Russian literature. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has already taken up this school.
Suspicions about the Metropolitan
Metropolitan Pavlo Lebid, nicknamed Pasha 'Mercedes' for his passion for luxury cars, is suspected of justifying and denying the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as violating the equality of citizens depending on their racial, national, regional affiliation, and religious beliefs.
The Shevchenkivskyi Court of the capital selected a preventive measure in the form of house arrest with an electronic bracelet. In July of that same year, he was taken into custody with the possibility of bail, but a month later he was released on a bail of 33 million UAH.
In April 2024, the Pechersk court allowed Pasha 'Mercedes' to remove his electronic bracelet.
Dobkin's Service
In April 2022, immediately after Russian troops left Kyiv, former MP-regional and ex-mayor of Kharkiv Mykhailo Dobkin was ordained as a deacon of the UOC MP. It was mentioned that he allegedly graduated from a spiritual seminary.
Dobkin is known to Ukrainians for the 'epic' video clip from 2007 that went viral. At that time, in a recording of failed takes of his election appeal, former Kharkiv mayor Hennadiy Kernes gave him rough advice off-camera: 'Misha, we rewrite everything, you have a boring face, no one will give you money' and 'Let's do it again, Misha, everything is f***ing bad!'. Dobkin responded to these comments: 'The text is written stupidly.'
Currently, the situation surrounding the metropolitan and the former mayor of Kharkiv has aroused significant public and media interest, as both figures are actively involved in the context of current events in Ukraine. The SBU continues the investigation into the activities of the monastery, which may have serious consequences for both figures on the Ukrainian political stage.
