The Office of the President announced negotiations with the USA: the fate of humanitarian projects is at stake.
The Office of the President of Ukraine will consult with American partners regarding the financing of humanitarian projects in Ukraine. This was reported by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, on her Facebook page.
I am responsible for humanitarian response, and a 90-day pause from a key donor cannot but be troubling. However, I am confident that we will stabilize everything in the humanitarian direction
According to Vereshchuk, the 90-day pause in funding from a key donor raises concerns. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining project teams and their work during this period.
The situation arose after U.S. President Donald Trump suspended all foreign aid programs for 90 days. During this time, a review of the programs' compliance with the political goals of the U.S. administration will be conducted.
Earlier, the Ministry of Social Policy stated the impact of the suspension of U.S. aid on pensions and social payments.
