14 children poisoned in a hotel in Lviv region: what is known about the condition of the victims.
Children's poisoning in Lviv region
In the village of Slavske in the Lviv region, 14 children were poisoned in a hotel and entertainment complex. According to preliminary diagnosis, they have acute intestinal infection. The children were hospitalized in the infectious disease department.
The head of the infectious disease department of the Stryi city hospital Andrii Babyak reported that on the night of August 18, 12 children were admitted to the hospital, two more were brought in the morning. They are from different cities in Ukraine. All patients are girls.
The mother of one of the hospitalized children said that the kids arrived in Slavske on August 15. They checked into the hotel 'Karpaty' and on August 17 moved to 'Karpaty Comfort'. The first symptoms of poisoning appeared at noon. The administration of the establishment called for medics. It is known that the children had omelets for breakfast, drank water from coolers and bottled water.

'As of now, a response group from the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection has left to clarify the circumstances', — reported Natalia Ivanchенko-Timko, the general director of the Lviv regional center for disease control and prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Reaction of the Lviv region police
The law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the food poisoning of children.
It has been preliminarily established that 12 patients were delivered to medical facilities — residents of Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Rivne aged 8 to 15 years who were resting in one of the hotel and entertainment complexes in the territory of the Stryi district. Doctors diagnosed them with food poisoning — diagnoses are being clarified.
Children began to arrive at the hospital on August 17. Law enforcement opened a criminal case for violating sanitary rules and norms regarding preventing infectious diseases and mass poisonings.
Several children vacationing at the hotel and entertainment complex in the Lviv region were diagnosed with acute intestinal infection. Law enforcement and medical services are clarifying the circumstances of this situation and conducting an investigation.Read also
