Odesa officials embezzled 8 million on loaders: they face up to 6 years in prison.
Officials of the seaport in Odesa region embezzled 8 million hryvnias for the purchase of loaders. However, they were exposed by law enforcement, the dealers face up to 6 years of imprisonment.
The leaders of the state enterprise, together with a businessman, organized the purchase of two telescopic loaders at an inflated price. According to documents, the equipment was necessary for moving containers, bulk materials, and equipment in the port. However, the officials, according to the investigation, submitted artificially inflated indicators to the tender committee.
As a result, the enterprise concluded a contract with the supplier for almost 20 million hryvnias. But the examination established: the real cost of two such machines at that time was about 12 million. Thus, the state was caused losses of more than 8 million hryvnias.
What punishment is threatened
The participants have been notified of suspicion under (part 2 of Article 367 and part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position and official negligence). They face up to 6 years of imprisonment.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that the leaders of the state enterprise in Odesa region embezzled millions of hryvnias during the purchase of loaders at inflated prices. They face serious liability for corrupt actions that caused damage to the state.
