A memorial for the victims of the energy crisis has been established in Transnistria. This memorial has appeared next to the monument of the first power station in the region. According to the TSB channel, local residents of Tiraspol created this object by laying flowers, candles, and heaters at the portraits of the deceased. The cause of death for these people was carbon monoxide poisoning and fires caused by the cessation of Russian gas supplies and the use of low-quality heaters.

The head of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, reported that the energy crisis has led to hundreds of thousands of citizens living without heating during winter for almost a month, resulting in an increase in respiratory illnesses, especially among children. He also mentioned that the number of patients in local hospitals has increased to 150-170 people per day over the past week.
It is noted that heating and hot water have been halted in the Russian-occupied Transnistria due to the cessation of transit through Ukraine and Russia's refusal to supply gas through other routes.
Moldova previously offered to help Transnistria buy natural gas through European platforms to overcome the crisis. However, Transnistria refused European gas in favor of Russian due to 'higher and more unstable prices' for European gas.
Krasnoselsky also stated that the coal offered by Ukraine as assistance for Transnistria is unsuitable for local power stations.
Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War believe that receiving aid from Moldova, Ukraine, or the EU could weaken Russia's position in the region, as it would prevent it from using the crisis to increase Tiraspol's dependence on Moscow.
Transnistria's 'Tiraspoltransgaz' and 'Moldovagaz' signed an agreement to supply 3 million cubic meters of natural gas for Transnistria. These supplies are intended to ensure the functionality of Transnistria's gas system.
