Draft Law Registered in Parliament: State Bureau to Investigate Unlawful Military Recruitment Office Actions.
New Legislative Proposal in the Verkhovna Rada
According to Novyny.live: A newly registered draft law in Ukraine's parliament aims to tighten accountability for violations of military registration rules. The bill was introduced by lawmakers Mariana Bezuhla, Oksana Dmytriieva, Dmytro Razumkov, Heorhii Mazurashu, and Dmytro Mykysha. Its primary goal is to strengthen oversight of territorial recruitment centers (TRCs) and prevent illegal mobilization practices.
Key Provisions of the Draft Law
Under the proposed measures, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) would be required to launch proceedings if evidence of unlawful actions by TRCs appears in online videos or media reports. This change is designed to increase transparency in TRC operations and safeguard citizens who may fall victim to misconduct.
Dmytro Razumkov, one of the bill's sponsors, stressed the initiative's importance, stating: 'We must stop illegal mobilization! When people are grabbed off the streets... Such 'mistakes' cost people far too much!'
The draft law has not yet been published on the parliament's website, but its registration signals lawmakers' intent to address issues in this area. Discussions around the bill are expected to spark significant debate among both politicians and the public.
This push for stricter accountability comes amid growing concerns over unlawful mobilization in Ukraine. If passed, the legislation could serve as a key tool for protecting citizens' rights and easing social tensions tied to military obligations. Public and political reactions to the proposal will likely shape future legislative efforts in this field.
