Ukraine Cripples Russian Logistics in the South: Operation 'Milk' Strangles Crimea.
Breakdown of Operation 'Milk'
According to Espreso.tv: Captain First Rank Pavlo Lakiychuk and Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert 'Madjar' Brovdi have analyzed Operation 'Milk,' a key component of the broader campaign to drain the resources of Russian forces in southern Ukraine. The operation's primary objective is to strip Russian troops of all supplies necessary to sustain combat operations.
On the southern front, Russian logistics depend on two main corridors:
- The Kerch Strait
- The land corridor along the Sea of Azov
The Kerch Strait route includes the Crimean Bridge, a ferry crossing, and maritime connections between Russian ports and Crimea. The land corridor runs through Taganrog, Mariupol, Berdyansk, and Melitopol. Recently, Russian border guards closed navigation through the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov, further complicating supply efforts for Russian forces.
The Sea of Azov also serves as a critical export route for Russian grain. According to Robert 'Madjar' Brovdi, the Unmanned Systems Forces will focus on striking Russian vessels in both the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
'The main task of the Defense Forces right now is to bleed the enemy group that is advancing.' Pavlo Lakiychuk
Lakiychuk further stated: 'We have already seriously cut that artery. It is bleeding.' He added that 'logistics through the Sea of Azov have also collapsed' and explained that 'a tanker would enter the Black Sea empty and leave loaded with oil.'
He noted: 'If this route is blocked, storage facilities will eventually fill up.' These comments highlight the tense situation on the southern front and the critical importance of controlling supply lines amid the ongoing conflict.
Strategic Importance of the Operation
Operation 'Milk' represents a vital element of Ukraine's overall strategy to degrade the combat capability of Russian forces and ensure security on Ukrainian territory.
The operation underscores the critical role of controlling logistics routes in armed conflicts, as an army's ability to fight hinges on its supply lines. With navigation now closed in the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov, Ukrainian forces are working to maximize disruptions to Russian resource deliveries, potentially shifting the momentum on the battlefield. Success in this effort could lead to a significant change in the balance of power along the southern front.
