New options have appeared in the Register of war damages for Ukrainians.
Ukrainian citizens can also submit claims to the Register of damages
Starting from March 19, Ukrainian citizens have the opportunity to submit applications to the international Register of damages through the 'Diia' application. This was reported by information from Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, as cited by 'Glavkom'.
«Each such application is a step towards holding Russia accountable», - emphasized the Prime Minister.
Now it is possible to submit an application to the Register under the following categories:
- compensation for forced internal displacement;
- serious physical injuries;
- sexual violence;
- torture;
- freedom restrictions (captivity);
- forced labor or service.
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov assured that the personal information of applicants will be kept confidential.
In April 2024, the international Register of damages caused by Russian aggression in Ukraine was opened in The Hague. Ukrainians who suffered had the opportunity to submit applications for compensation.
In July 2024, it became possible to submit an application to the Register due to a destroyed or damaged house as a result of the war.
In January 2025, another important category of applicants was added - those who lost a loved one. And from March 12, it became possible to submit an application to the international Register of damages in case of a loved one going missing.
