In Italy, the police fined a 19-year-old tourist who carved his initials on the wall of the Colosseum between the first ring and the atrium. This was reported by the Italian national news agency Ansa.

According to the report, this tourist is of Ukrainian origin. He was stopped and fined for his act.

Immediately after the vandalism was discovered, the police contacted the Colosseum museum security service, took the tourist to the Celio police station, drew up a report, and fined him.

Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri confirmed that the actions of the police were correct. He emphasized that in a city that has many cultural treasures, there is no place for hooliganism.

It was previously reported that the area around the bust of Taras Shevchenko was damaged in Portugal. The Embassy of Ukraine has already responded to this vandalism and informed the local authorities about this act.
