An explosion occurred at one of the largest ammunition depots in Russia, located near the village of Barsovo in the Vladimir region. According to local Telegram channels, the 51st arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation experienced fires and explosions of ammunition.
The distance from the Ukrainian-Russian border to the arsenal is over 500 km, and to Moscow - 64 km. Authorities announced the evacuation of the village of Barsovo, which is the closest to this depot. This is not the first explosion incident in these territories. A similar event also occurred here in June 2022. The fire caused explosions of ammunition, leading to the destruction of dozens of anti-tank complexes and shells. According to some media reports, at least three Russian soldiers were killed. Later, the death toll rose to five people. Earlier, Ukrainian fighters eliminated important enemy equipment in the Tetykino area in Kursk. Ukraine also struck Russian occupiers' radar equipment in the Belgorod region. It is worth noting that the Defense Forces attacked the 'Engels' airfield in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation, where strategic aviation, intended for strikes on Ukraine, is based. Bombers and ammunition depots are located at this airfield. Overall, events in Russia indicate the ineffectiveness and danger of old ammunition depots, as well as the activity and success of Ukrainian forces in the anti-terrorist operation. The 51st arsenal of the GRAU of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is on fire in Barsovo, Vladimir region pic.twitter.com/mcOELEbvCY
