'Cascade' Unit Becomes Attractive to the Russian Elite
In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, there is a drone unit called 'Cascade'. According to The New York Times, this unit has gained popularity among representatives of the Russian elite. They even refer to 'Cascade' as a 'unit for VIPs', as reported by 'Glavkom'.
Safety and Short Service Duration in 'Cascade'
One of the features of 'Cascade' is relative safety and a short service duration. According to military experts and social media, the fighters of this unit carry out missions for 3-8 months, after which they return to Russia, where they are met as heroes.
The Conflict Intelligence Team reports that the conditions of service in 'Cascade' differ significantly from combat conditions. The unit bases are located out of the reach of artillery, and the military live in apartments or hotels, rather than in bunkers.
Ideological Work in Russia After the Invasion of Ukraine
After the invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin began ideological work. The main goal of this work is to educate a generation of young Russians prepared for future wars to restore imperial greatness. According to The Washington Post, this goal is gradually being achieved. The 'Heroes' Time' program was created to intervene in the politics of war veterans in Ukraine.
