Following Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election, organizations providing access to abortion or information on medical abortion report an increase in requests from women. This was reported by The Washington Post.
One of the largest providers of abortion pills, Aid Access, reported 10,000 requests for medication within 24 hours after Election Day. This is 17 times more than usual.

Plan C, an organization that provides information on access to abortion pills, reported an increase in website visitors to 82,200 compared to 4-4.5 thousand visitors per day before the election.
In addition, organizations and companies working in the field of reproductive health have noticed an increased demand for emergency contraception and long-acting birth control methods, such as intrauterine devices and vasectomies.
Brittany Fontenot, President of the National Abortion Federation, stated that people understand the threat posed by restrictions on abortion access under the Trump administration.
Trump's Position Change
It is worth noting that Donald Trump has changed his position on abortions in the US. He referred to himself as the 'most pro-life president', meaning a supporter of the movement against abortion practices and their legalization.
In contrast, Melania Trump supports women's right to abortion, as confirmed in her memoir 'Melania'. Thus, she expresses a different opinion than her husband did in his election campaign.
At the beginning of the year, Joe Biden emphasized that restoring women's rights to abortion is his top priority in the election campaign.
