Financial Support in Sumy for 2026

According to Novyny.live: In February 2026, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) announced the opening of registration for a financial assistance program aimed at vulnerable residents of Sumy. This initiative is designed to provide crucial aid to those most in need during a period of significant socio-economic hardship.

Payments under the program will be 3,600 UAH per person for three months, with a maximum household payout reaching 10,800 UAH. Eligibility is strictly limited to those who have not received similar support from other organizations in the preceding three months. Furthermore, a household's income must not exceed 6,300 UAH per person.

Other Financial Assistance Programs

Residents of Sumy can register for this aid at 15 Revolution of Dignity Street. In addition to the UNHCR program, the French humanitarian organization Acted is also accepting applications for cash assistance in the Sosnytska community in February 2026. The Acted program provides 3,600 UAH per month for a three-month period.

These financial support programs are accepting applications from internally displaced persons and refugees. The vulnerable categories prioritized for assistance include:

  • Single parents or mothers with children,
  • Individuals over 55 years of age,
  • People with disabilities.

The goal of these initiatives is to alleviate the socio-economic difficulties faced by these population groups. Such international aid programs are a critical component of the support network in Ukraine, helping to bridge gaps in social services.

This program is part of the broader efforts by international organizations and humanitarian agencies to improve the situation of citizens affected by prolonged socio-economic crises.

As many in Ukraine continue to struggle with accessing basic necessities, these initiatives play a vital role in providing stability and support for the most vulnerable members of society.
