A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 occurred in Turkey: there are fatalities and injuries.
A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck in the northwestern province of Balıkesir, Turkey, resulting in at least one death and over a dozen buildings collapsing. At least 29 people have been reported injured.

What is known about the consequences of the earthquake
The agency reports that the earthquake, with its epicenter located in the town of Sindırgı, caused tremors that were felt approximately 200 kilometers north in Istanbul.
The Turkish Ministry of Interior reported that an elderly woman died shortly after being pulled alive from the rubble, and four other people were rescued from the building.
According to officials, a total of 16 buildings collapsed in the region, most of which were abandoned and not in use. None of the affected individuals are in serious condition, the Turkish Ministry of Interior stated.
Earlier reports indicated that due to the powerful earthquake, the Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano became active in Kamchatka. This is the highest active volcano in Eurasia.
It was also reported that the Pacific Fleet base of the Russian Federation in Kamchatka suffered significant damage. This occurred as a result of the tsunami that happened after the earthquake in the region.
