In Vienna, cruise ship passengers cannot disembark due to flooding.
In the capital of Austria, Vienna, due to flooding on the Danube River, the Swiss river cruise ship "Thurgau Prestige" with over 140 passengers on board is blocked. Local authorities are considering evacuation options or temporary accommodation of people on the ship until the water recedes. This is reported by Der Standard.
Currently, 102 passengers and 40 crew members remain on board as the way to the pier is flooded. According to the travel organizer Thurgau Travel, there are enough supplies on the liner.
According to the reports from both passengers and the crew, the ship has all the necessary things. The travel organizer Thurgau Travel confirmed that food for all passengers is fully provided.
The situation is under control, and local authorities will make a decision on further steps after the weather conditions improve.
Let us recall that several catastrophic floods have occurred in Europe, resulting in the deaths of already eight people.
