According to UATV: On June 16, 2023, Russian forces launched a large-scale assault on Ukraine, firing two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 132 attack drones. The drone fleet included Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas models, as well as decoy drones designed to overwhelm defenses. The strikes originated from Russia's Rostov region and multiple launch points including Shatalovo, Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
As of 8:30 AM local time, Ukrainian air defense systems had successfully intercepted 114 enemy drones. Despite these efforts, two missiles and 16 attack drones managed to strike nine separate locations, underscoring the attack's intensity. Debris from downed drones fell across eight sites, further confirming the scale of the engagement and the persistent threat posed by enemy forces in the area.
